For years, I've been a prisoner in this panopticon. when will I ever escape?
For years, I've been a follower of selfish leaders that doesn't even care about me.
For years, I've been sacrificing my own happiness, just to see those selfish leaders happy.
For years, I've encapsulated myself in a world where its just me who exists.
For years, I've been caring for people whom I shouldn't even care about.
For years, I've been a prisoner. How will I ever escape?
When will I ever escape?
Will someone even care to take me out of this panopticon?
Well, I doubt it.

Don't Worry, Be Happy, Keep Learning!
The capacity to learn is a gift; The ability to learn is a
skill; The willingness to learn is a choice.
~ Brian Herbert
After reading this quote, it was like something hit my
directly from inside my head. The writer is right, especially the last phrase.
I can soberly say that learning really is a choice. It’s your own choice if you
will continue your exploration with the things around you. It’s like making a
choice is a gift that was given by God and also a skill that needs to be
expanded.
During the Second Grading period, I learned various things.
First on the list is how to use the different HTML Tags. Starting from the
basic ones going down to the complicated ones. I also learned how to value my
time very very very well. I realized how important time management is. That if
you have a problem, you shouldn’t waste your time in just one corner of your
room and just sitting and doing nothing. You need to use that time very well,
especially in solving your problem. Going back, I also learned and discovered
what the meaning of friendship means and that’s all about sticking to each others back, even if everything around you turned upside down.
Second Grading was really stressful for me. Why? Because
after the week intended for the making of the Investigatory project, some of us
were chosen to join the Sabayang Pagbigkas for the Solidarity. I really had a
hard time coping up with my lessons and I missed a long quiz. I didn’t have my notes
updated. I was really loosing hope back then. I wanted to scream because I can’t
handle it anymore. But that’s where my friends showed up. They helped me with
my problem. They helped me cope up with my activities. They told me to not give
up that easily. They served as my motivation and I was, I am, and I will always
be thankful that God gave me friends like them. Without them, I would have lost
my hope and I would have given up. They never
gave up on me even if my situation was very complicated, I think.
Moving on, I will focus my whole mind and soul into my
lessons very well. And like what I said before, I will still bring out the best
in me. I know that there’s still things that’s hiding deep inside me. I will
manage my time really well this Third Grading Period. So, Third Grading period,
please be good to me.

Intramural Worth Remembering
Intramural, it is the most awaited part in every school
year. In this, different students get to show what they got when it comes to
sports. They are given the opportunity to speak for themselves through the
sport they are good at.
Last September 19, our school held the Intramural. But before
the festivities, a day before the said event they first had an opening program
just to add a kick to the event. The gymnasium was packed with different
students with different abilities in different areas of sport. If I my
estimation was right, the athletes were 1/8 of the whole population of our
school. And after that, the games did officially begin. September 19, the
scheduled date for the outdoor games, but unfortunately, the weather wasn’t bearing
with the event. The sky was cloudy and the clouds were grayish in color. So that
made us conclude that it’s going to rain. Nevertheless, that didn’t stop the
officiating officials to continue the area they were assigned to. Well, we were
assigned to those areas and asked us to have our duty, as CAT Officers it was
also our job to help the officials and that’s what we did. We just stayed to
our own areas and waited for the game to finish. By the end of the day, some of
the games ended, some weren’t because of the weather condition. The Supreme
Student Government or the SSG even organized different booths to lighten up the
mood of our intramural. Those booths include the Horror Booth, Movie Booth,
and Marriage Booth. I never had the chance to enter those booths because of the
duty. But even though that happened, it was just okay. It was still fun after
all.
In my 4 years of staying in Ilocos Sur National High School,
I can honestly say that this year’s intramural is the most memorable
intramural ever in my whole entire life. I got to experience running in the
rain while wearing my CAT Uniform. Even though the weather wasn’t going as what
was planned, it was still cool. The important thing there is I got to spend my
last intramural with my true friends.
My TEACHER, My HERO
Capes, swords, laser eyes, super strength and many more. These
are just some of the weapons we encounter with the so-called fictional heroes
or characters. But did you know that there are also real life heroes who never
use those weapons? These heroes only use a chalk and a blackboard to save
people. These heroes are the ones we call teachers.
My Teacher, My hero. At first I never imagined that teachers
are also considered heroes, but guess I was wrong. Because, as I was growing
up, I had my very first teachers on my side. They’re my parents. From learning
the ABC, to counting 1, 2, 3, singing Do, Re, Me, praying Our Father every
night, they never skipped a beat. I also
consider our Almighty Father as one of my teachers because He was the one who
taught me how to be God-fearing. When I reached the age of 6, I started going
to school and I met the real teachers, the ones who will be second parents at
school. From the things my parents taught to me, my knowledge from those things
grew bigger and wider. I came to know what 1+1 means and what 1000-993 means. I
also learned about the different living things around me and also the
non-living things. I can still remember how these topics caught my attention. It
started when I was in grade 3, my teachers we’re discussing topics and those
topics really caught my attention and really cut me off-guard. From that time
on, I came to love what I was learning at my school. Without my teachers, maybe
my perspective about teaching, learning and schools would be dull and boring. They’re
the ones who taught me how to enjoy living my life and letting what I learned
out. I came to prioritize my studies. I came realize that it’s not bad to learn
new things, just as long as your teacher is still there guiding and tutoring
you with things you should know.
As we all thought at first, being a teacher is easy. But in
what I have observed, it is not. A teacher’s job is not that easy. You need to
also wake up early and then also sleep late like what most of the students do
right now. You also need to know how to deal with the different attitudes of
your students. If you want to be a teacher, you must have packed all your
patience and sense of responsibility because this job is a serious job and it
only seldom finds time for happiness. We must all know how to respect them. We must
know how to listen to them wholeheartedly. Without them, other professions wouldn't even exist. And as the time comes that we will go on our separate ways and we will all be apart, the memories and the knowledge they imparted to us will not be forgotten. And those things we have learned from them and the principles they shared will serve as an inspiration as we go along the way.
Let Us All Be One
As we all know, different illnesses are being felt by our
fellow citizens. They experience different kinds of symptoms that make their
life miserable. These illnesses are now described as murderers for they take
your life away easily if the mentioned symptoms are not cured directly.
Every month of September, we always celebrate National
Science Month. This year the theme for the said event is, “Immunation: Arming
Science Clubbers with Healthful Defenses towards National Wellness.” For me, the theme speaks about us Filipinos,
especially those people who are very much concerned about our environment is in
now, to speak and loosen up and be aware of what we are experiencing now. Illnesses
right now can be described like jobs; they’re in-demand now. Demanding us to
find the right solutions so that they can be cured easily. We are all very much
aware that a lot of our fellow Filipino citizens are suffering from different
kinds of illnesses. Some even has an illness which is incurable. With the
different causes of these illnesses around our environment, these things will
not be easily terminated.
So, come on and join us! Let us all be one in investigating
and solving these vague cases. Let us all work hand in hand in finding the
appropriate solutions for these problems. We must all take part in saving lives.
MAGBAYANIHAN!
Modern Day Hero
Superman, Batman, Wonder woman, Darna… these are just some of the fictional characters a lot of us know and we’ve been idolizing them ever since we were kids. But these characters can be found around us. Their traits can be found in some of the people around us.
erson who’s always there
ready to serve as your best friend and a listener whenever you have problems. A
person who’s always there unconditionally loving us. This person is whom we
call “MOTHER”.
For some it may sound cheesy but
for me, I consider my mom my hero. Why? Without her, my life would be a mess. Without
my mom who is patiently guiding me through all my decisions in life, I know
that my life wouldn’t have any sense of direction. She served as my teacher who
continually taught me things I should learn as I face my next years of
existence here in this world. My mom was
always there to listen to every problem o encounter every day. She never
stopped listening to those weeps of mine. She was always there extending her unending
love and care for me. From the persons I’ve known, she’s the one who knows
every single detail about me. She knows when I’m sad. She knows when I’m happy.
She knows when I need her that bad.
Without them, we would never be
here in this world. Without them continuously watching our backs, our life’s
way would be zigzagged. I’m very thankful that God gave me a mother who is
hardworking, caring, loving and understanding. So, we must all know how to
respect and obey our mothers. We must all strive hard so that when that
time comes, all their efforts and sacrifices wouldn’t be put to waste. And little
by little, those sacrifices will be repaid.

Wikang Filipino: Wika ng Pagkakaisa
Wika, ito ang
isa sa pinakamahalagang bagay na dapat taglayin ng isang bansa. bawat bansa y
may kaya-kanyang wika.
tatangkilikin.
